Date Night

With two kids, a night on the town is much more expensive that it was before our Little Loves came along. To help alleviate the additional $60-$80 a night out could cost, friends and I have agreed to Date Night Swap.

The first plan of swapping happened very quickly as the other couple was just as eager as we were about a night out. On Monday afternoon we arranged to swap child care for 4 hours each. Friday S & T would go to Friends house, Saturday nights, Friends would bring their cuties over for 240 minutes of marital bliss.

In my head, I ran through what types of things we could do. We should go eat. Maybe hike? Too dark. Movies? Yes, dinner and a movie. I was so excited about a dinner and a movie that the week went quickly by as I looked forward to some QT with Adam. After a long and busy week, by Date Night I was so tired that I wondered if it would be wrong to drop the kids, go back home and sleep. We could do whatever we wanted, as long as it was within the time frame.

Plans in place, we organized for the girls to go to Friends house. We picked them up early from kiddie world, diaper bag packed and ready for all curve balls that could come Friends way while they watched our babies. Gettingthem settled into Friends house went smoothly for S . She was is super comfirtable right away and Friends cuties were as welcoming and kind as could be. Bye! Run down steps and out of Apartment building. I jumped off the stoop, doing a jump heel touch to the left.

We run away from Friends house, hand in hand. We weren't pushing acarriage or holding S close to cross the street, just Me and A. Aaaaw. What do we talk about? Those friggin kids!

After a little indecision because we had planned so hard for the girls that we never talked about we wanted to do, we went to a local bar for drinks. The movies don't start at any time that is convenient for our lives, we stay close, also concered for Friend watching four kids, oneof which, our Little T-was quite needy that night.

The date ended early because T needed to get home to sleep but we were elated to have had the hour alone, $20 and two beers later, feeling a fresh love for each other. Feeling content. Thanks Friend, looking forward to returning the favor.

Got me thinking about all of the other things that could be Swapped....what a $$ saver!

Soup Party 09?
